Girls basketball began for Southeast 1B league teams last week with action around the county and into Idaho.
Colton 66, Grangeville 37
The Wildcat girls began a quest for a seventh-consecutive 1B state championship with a non-league win over Grangeville Dec. 5.
Trailing for most of the first half, Colton came back to take control as Savannah Chadwick led the team with 24 points and Zoe Moser had 22. Haley Meyer added nine points.
Colton led 23-21 at halftime before coming out for the third quarter for an 18-0 run.
Tekoa-Rosalia 64, Garfield-Palouse 33
Olivia Pakootas scored 21 points to lead the
Tekoa-Rosalia Timberwolves girls in a win over Gar-Pal. Hannah Beach added 18 points for T-R.
Payson Griner led Gar-Pal with 14 points.
Dayton 43, Garfield-Palouse 29
In Gar-Pal’s season opener, Payson Griner led the team with 12 points in a non-league matchup at Dayton Dec. 2.
St. John-Endicott 49, Asotin 47
St. John-Endicott (1-2) picked up a non-league win at Asotin Dec. 6, coming back from a seven-point deficit in the fourth quarter.
