Fire destroys Colfax house

Fire crews were still on the scene Tuesday morning after battling a blaze which destroyed this house on the Walla Walla Highway west of Colfax. Residents of the house, the Paul Bilderbacks, had left the previous morning for a holiday visit on the west side of the state. The house was the former long-time residence of Joe and Theola Gray.
