Grant awarded for LaCrosse weather baloon project

Matthew Wysock, LaCrosse High School science teacher, was recently awarded a $420 classroom grant from Northwest Professional Educators (NWPE), Spokane, the state’s only non-union professional teacher association.

Wysock plans to use the funds to purchase a radio transmitter, tracking program and programming cables to help students track the school’s high altitude weather balloon’s altitude, velocity and position. The balloon is used in the science program’s near-space engineering project.
