Colton girls extend streak to 54 games

The Colton girls made quick work of two more opponents coming off of Christmas break to extend their winning streak. Elsewhere in the Southeast 1B league this week, St. John-Endicott and Oakesdale picked up wins while Garfield-Palouse lost a close contest to Potlatch.

Colton 68, Genessee 22

Junior Zoe Moser delivered 27 points, including five three-pointers as unbeaten Colton defeated two-loss Genesee in a non-league game Jan. 5.

Extending their winning streak to 54 games, Colton (10-0, 4-0 league) scored the first 14 points of the second half, pulling away.

Genessee leading scorer Kaleigh Ranisate was held to three points, mainly guarded by Colton defenders Savannah Chadwick and Kendyl Druffel.

Other leading scorers for the Wildcats included Chadwick with 12 points, Rachel Meyer with nine, Druffel with six and Meghan Devorak’s five. Meyer had seven rebounds while Devorak came down with five.

Oakesdale 60, Asotin 36

The Nighthawks avenged a 64-51 Dec. 12 loss to Asotin with a win going away Tuesday night.

Tatiana Mendoza led Oakesdale (6-3) with 15 points in the home game while Jacey Johnson scored 14, Anne Hockett added 11 and Lindsey Lindgren 7. Logan Reed scored six points.

St. John-Endicott 44, Odessa-Harrington 43

Gracie Dickerson scored 10 points to lead the Eagles (6-4) to a close victory Tuesday night. Lanessa Simon led Odessa-Harrington with 15 points.

Colton 70, Garfield-Palouse 11

Zoe Moser scored 11 points in the first quarter to open a rout at Palouse last Saturday night.

The Wildcats led 22-2 after the first quarter and 46-10 at halftime.

Moser paced the team with 20 points, nine steals and six assists while Savannah Chadwick scored 14 and Haley Meyer 10. Winnie Schultheis added six rebounds. Kendyl Druffel scored five points.

All told, 12 Wildcats took the floor and 10 scored.

Payson Griner led Gar-Pal with four points while Keely Burnes scored three.

Oakesdale 66, LaCrosse-Washtucna 19

Playing at Washtucna, Jacey Johnson led the Nighthawks with 16 points in a game which Oakesdale (5-3, 3-1 league) opened with a 22-0 lead over the Tigercats (0-4, 0-4 league).

Other scorers for Oakesdale included Lindsey Lindgren with 13 points, Tatiana Mendoza with 11 and Logan Reed 10. Jazzmyn Gordon led L-W-K with 11 points.

St. John-Endicott 51, Liberty Christian 29

Abby Glorfield scored 22 points to lead the Eagles (5-4, 3-1 league) in a win over the Patriots at St. John, in a game which S.J.E. forced 31 turnovers. In addition, Grace Dickerson scored nine points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Potlatch 51, Garfield-Palouse 45

The Vikings dropped to 0-8 after a close-fought home loss to Potlatch Jan. 2. Katie Arrasmith led with 20 points followed by Payson Griner with 11 and Bri Brown’s nine. Keely Burnes added five points. Garfield-Palouse has just two seniors on the roster, along with three freshmen and three eighth-graders.
