Wrestlers place at Pomeroy, Warden

Colfax/Gar-Pal wrestlers placed fifth among 19 teams Saturday at the Warden. tournament. They will wrestle at Springdale on Saturday.

The Colfax-G/P team placed third among 18 teams at the annual Pomeroy Christmas tournament last Monday and Tuesday.

The two-day meetfeatured a close finish in team points with the Bulldogs just 3.5 points back of the win by Clarkston.

Reggie Jones topped the locals with a second-place finish in the 152-pound class with a loss to Zach Freeman of Clarkston on the championship match.

Nick McAdams placed third after battling through the consolation bouts. McAdams was stopped by Cody Hoffman of Selkirk in the semi-final round.

Brian DeYoung placed fourth in the 195-pound class, and Brandon Arneson, back in action after being sideline by an injury, placed fourth in the 170-pound class.

138 - Mitch Barney won 2 and lost 1. He placed 2nd losing to Peter Manville of Warden 1-3 in the finals.

152 - Reggie Jones won 2 and lost 1. He placed 3rd beating Brandon Chavez of Connell 17-12.

170 - Brandon Arneson won 3 and lost 0. He placed first beating Tanner Brown of Riverview by pin in the first round of the finals.

195 - Brian DeYoung won 1 and lost 1. He place 3rd beating Ethan Miller of Okanagan by pin in the third round.

132 - Travis Knauff - 4th (2 win / 2 loss), 132 - Trapper Askins - 6th (2 win / 2 loss), Nick McAdams - 4th (1 win / 2 loss).
