Dahmen sessions
Registration ends today, Jan. 15, for the workshop on painting on silk, session four of the Wild Women Winter Art Series at Dahmen Barn in Uniontown, Sunday, Jan. 25, 1 to 4 p.m. This is the only workshop that requires advance registration so materials can be ordered.
Students will be given a pre-stretched square of silk upon which they may draw or trace a design. Class fee is $25, plus a materials fee of $5 to be paid to the instructor the day of the class. Instructor Jeanne Wood has been an artist in the Palouse region since the early 1970s. Although she works primarily with ceramics, she also draws, costumes and does a wide variety of art.
Jan. 18 is the third Wild Women workshop, etching on glass, 1 to 4 p.m. Participants will learn to etch on glass when they take this workshop. In the process they will use a pre-cut pattern and also create unique patterns of their own to use. A drinking glass, a beveled glass to hang in a window and one other piece will be completed in the session. Fee is $25 for advance registration, $35 day of the class. Materials fee is $5. Instructor Nancy Attebury loves creating acrylic and oil paintings and also does wood craft and glass etching. In addition, she is an author of 16 children’s books
KC food drive
totals 3,669 lbs.
The Knights of Columbus from St. Patrick’s Church conducted a food drive for the Council on Aging/Colfax Food Pantry Dec. 4-7, 2014. They collected food donations from patrons at Rosauer’s and members of St. Patrick’s Church. The drive collected a total of 3,669 pounds of food.
The Knights appreciate all the support they received in conducting the food drive, according to David Appel, chairman of the food drive committee for the Knights.

A Midwinter Night’s Gala has been scheduled for Friday, Jan. 30, starting at 6:30 p.m. a WSU’s Daggy Hall with a social hour in the lobby featuring hors d’oeuvres and a cash wine bar provided by Banyans on the Ridge.
The performance in Jones Theater will be The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), presented by Moscow Art Theater (Too).
