T-R boys bag first win, Crusaders leave big toll

Tekoa/Rosalia boys snapped a 12-game losing streak Saturday night with a 52-48 win over Kettle Falls in a battle of the two last-place NE teams. . The win left the Timberwolves at 1-7 in the league with Kettle at 0-8.

Junior guard Cooper Angelo put down a league high six three pointers to total 28 points in the home win.

TR staked an eight-point lead after the first quarter, lost half of it by halftime and weathered a Kettle rally in the final frame.

Tuesday Northwest Christian rolled to Rosalia and downed the Timberwolves 58-36 with a 35-14 barrage in the first half. Dillon Jacobs led the scoring for the hosts with nine points.

Northwest Christian girls also took a big win, 56-37, to finish out a 0-3 week for the TR girls. The Crusaders led 34-18 at the break, but the T-Wolves kept pace in the second half.

Rachel Bozlee hit 22 in the Rosalia stop.

The TR girls Saturday sustained a 51-41 loss to Kettle Falls in the league round with Erin Johnson hitting 15 for the Bulldogs. The loss dropped the T-wolves to 3-5 in league play. Kimberly Groom hit 15 against Kettle.

Tekoa/Rosalia girls sustained a 62-40 loss to Reardan in the Friday night round with Kim Groom leading the Timberwolves on 14 points. Olivia Pakootas hit 12.

Reardan was led by 17 points each from Kamille Langford and Michelle Tinsley.
