Vikings beat Pomeroy, now 13-0

Garfield-Palouse continued to dominate the Southeast 1B league this week, although in a slightly more muted fashion, beating second-place Pomeroy by 23 points. A night before, the Vikings (13-0) delivered a 50-point win over Liberty Christian. In other league action, Colton beat St. John-Endicott and Touchet. On Tuesday night, the Vikings won at Dayton 70-8.

Garfield-Palouse 70, Dayton 8

Matt Holbrook led with 20 points while Mitch Jamison added 15 and Hunter Woltering had eight points and 10 rebounds in a rout Tuesday in Palouse. Tyler Thurman had nine points and Cole Sanderson seven.

Colton 59, St. John-Endicott 46

Carter Dahmen led Colton with 15 points while Austin Meyer added 12 and Lane Moore nine as the Wildcats (5-5, 4-2) finished off the Eagles Saturday in Colton, after leading by as many as 25 points. Robert Staples led St. John-Endicott with 11 points while Caleb Hudson added eight and Griffin Parrish six.

Colton 51, Touchet 48

Carter Dahmen downed two free throws to put the Wildcats up three points with 30 seconds remaining, a cushion which lifted them to victory at Touchet Saturday.

Dahmen led Colton with 17 points on the night.

Garfield-Palouse 67, Pomeroy 46

Four players in double figures added up to a definitive win over the Pirates (10-2, 5-1) at Palouse Saturday. While the margin of victory was the closest so far this season, Gar-Pal (11-0, 6-0) took over sole possession of first place in the Southeast 1B league. Tyler Thurman led the Vikings with 18 points while Matt Holbrook had 15 points and Gabe Cocking and Cole Sanderson each scored 10.

Tyson Fieder led Pomeroy with 14 points while Cole Mayfield added seven.

Liberty Christian 58, Oakesdale 45

The Patriots’ Cameron Goodwin scored 20 points to lead Liberty Christian over the Nighthawks (3-8, 1-4) Saturday at Oakesdale. Tanner Dingman led the Nighthawks with 14 points, Parker Perry had 12 and Dustin Warwick added 10.

Pomeroy 82, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 21

Cole Mayfield’s 22 points led the Pirates while Tyson Fieder added 11 as Pomeroy (10-1, 5-0 league) took down the Tigercats Friday. Ally Fu led L-W-K with six points in the game.

St. John-Endicott 57, Oakesdale 46

With 15 points from Robert Staples and three other players in double figures, the Eagles (5-6, 2-3 league) outgunned Oakesdale Friday in St. John. Tanner Dingman led Oakesdale (3-7, 1-3) with 16 points on the night.

Garfield-Palouse 74, Liberty Christian 24

Matt Holbrook scored 25 points and totaled six steals while Tyler Thurman had another six to go with his 18 points in a dominant win in Richland. Mitch Jamison scored 19 points and Hunter Woltering had 10 rebounds.
