Motorized trail use set for state panel

The proposal for limited use of motorized vehicles on the John Wayne Trail and other long-distance trails in the state will be on the agenda for the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission at their next meeting, Jan. 29, at 9 a.m. at the L & I auditorium, 7273 Linderson Way, SW in Tumwater. Discussion of the trails topic is scheduled to begin about 10 a.m.

The proposal calls for use of motorized vehicles on trails for adjoining property owners. A fee schedule for the permits has been included in the proposal.

Area residents who want to provide comment for the proposal can send it to planning@parks.wa.gov before 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23.
