New public comment period open for Palouse water treatment plant

An added public comment period is underway in Palouse regarding a developing plan for its wastewater treatment plant.

A previous comment period closed in December, after which the Washington State Department of Ecology (DOE) made changes to the draft permit which requires a new 30-day comment period, began on Jan. 1, 2015.

The changes for the 1996-built facility included new limits for PH levels in the water and a decrease in temperature of the discharge into the North Fork of the Palouse River.
