Heaton relays info to Mexico City

Dusty

Blake Heaton received a Skype call from his grandson, Valente Reynoso Heaton, and his biology class at the Lancaster School in Mexico City. The class asked many questions about fertilizers, pesticides, chemical farming and summer fallow farming. They also asked how global warming would effect farming.

It is very rewarding to have Valente share what he learns during the summer on his grandfather’s ranch near Hay with his class in Mexico. This Skype experience gave the class a better understanding of how these farm practices are positive methods of farming. The class thanked the American farmers for helping feed the world.

Last Tuesday, Tom Phillips arrived from his home in Las Vegas for a week’s visit with his family, Di and Larry Brink. Friday, Kevin and Amber Brink and Ashley, Kloey, Ellie and Nick, Kennewick, joined the family for the weekend. Saturday, Larry and Di hosted lunch for the group that was already there as well as for Joan and Lucky Myrick, Mike Stine, Don and Carol Keeney and John and Brandi Brink and Myla. Tom returned to his home in Vegas on Monday.

Art and Colene Sager traveled to Mount Vernon, Wash., to attend a Memorial Service for Art’s cousin this past weekend. Art’s brother and his wife, Floyd and Linda Sager from Meridian, Idaho, and cousins Larry and Sandra Corn from Middleton, Idaho, traveled home with them and stayed overnight on their way back to their respective homes.
