Close defeats trim T-R playoff chances chances for T-R girls

Three losses, two by just a total of four points cut the chances for Tekoa/Rosalia girls to get a slot in the NE playoff round. Tekoa/Rosalia was rapped 56-28 by the LRS Broncos in the Tuesday night round to drop the TR record to 3-10.

Tekoa/Rosalia girls Friday sustained a one-point loss at St. George’s 39-40 and Saturday sustained three-point loss, 41-44 to neighboring Liberty on the Lancers’ court.

Liberty, which was hammered by Colfax Tuesday night, now has a 4-9 mark going into the last roind of action. They are now in the number-four slot for the last playoff ticket from the south side.

Saturday on the Lancers’ home court, Christine Denny led a third-quater charge for the Lancers when they broke out a 37-31 lead going into the last quarter. Denny hit five toss shots in the frame and Kaitlyn Rambo dropped a threebie.

The T-wolves charged back with Rayna Charles dropping a bucket and toss shot. Hannah Beach, who led the TR scorers with 14, dropped another three combo, and Olivia Pakootas drove in a baseline shot. She hit one foul shot later for a 41-43 score. TR had one last possession blown out on a ref call.
