An April 13 trial date was set Friday in superior court for Terry DeCremer, 28, Pullman, after he pleaded not guilty to charges filed following an arrest Jan. 23 in Pullman. DeCremer faces charges of arson, malicious mischief and obstructing justice from an episode which started with a report of domestic violence at a residence on SW Shirley Street.
The Pullman Police report alleged DeCremer drove away from the residence and then attempted to set his car on fire by sticking a rag in the gas tank and lighting it. A Pullman officer doused the fire with an extinguisher. The report alleges DeCremer was arrested after a brief chase on foot.
DeCremer told the court Friday he had refrained from drinking for a year, and the episode happened after he began drinking again. He said he has already attempted to get admittance to an in-patient treatment program.
DeCremer had been held in jail on a $10,000 bond, but he was allowed release on his own recognizance after his spouse told the court she wanted him back in the home.
