TV theft nets three months

Vlad Strava Sirbu, 21, Bellevue, was sentenced to three months in jail Friday morning in superior court after he pleaded guilty to a charge of second degree burglary. He was arrested Dec. 17 when members of the Theta Chi fraternity at WSU discovered him in the fraternity house in the middle of the night. He had attempted to take a flat screen television off a wall but had dropped it.

Strava Sirbu told the court he had traveled to Pullman, started drinking and then decided to enter the fraternity. The original charge of residential burglary was reduced to second degree burglary as part of a plea bargain agreement. He was also ordered to pay $400 restitution for the smashed television and pay $1,550 in fines and fees.
