Colfax choir students place first at regional

Colfax High School Choir students who placed first at the regional solo and ensemble festival Saturday in Pullman included Erica Eng and Holly Rimbey, soprano solos; Lauren Claassen, mezzo soprano, and Kelly Ward, alto.

Eng and Rimbey also placed first with a treble duet, and Kim Hinnenkamp and Austin Dupea placed first with a mixed duet.

Also winning was a treble large group of Eng, Rimbey, Lizzy May, Ward, Claassen, Cassie John, Jullene Sager and Katerina Wiley.

The mixed large group of May, Ward, Claassen, Eng, Rimbey, Maia Gingerich, Hinnenkamp, Bo Claassen, Brian Stueckle, Andrew Becker and Dupea also won.

The students were judged by WSU Music Department faculty members. These students, as first place winners, qualified to go to state competition in April at Central Washington University.
