Six wrestlers advance to state regional round

Six Colfax and Garfield/Palouse wrestlers advanced toward the state finals Saturday at Ritzville out of the 16-team sub-regional round. They will compete this Saturday in the regional competition round at Northwest Christian in Colbert.

Top five finishers at the regional will advance to the state Mat Classic in Tacoma the next week.

Colfax placed fifth in the 16-team Ritzville meet with 118 points, and Garfield/Palouse placed 12th with 46 points. If the scores had been combined, the locals would have placed second behind the team win posted by Reardan at 187.5 points.
