Meggie Perron came from Walla Walla last Friday afternoon to spend time with her grandmother, Fran Jones, and Uncle Bryan. Friday evening they drove to Hayden to celebrate Meggie’s 21st and Bryan’s 60th birthdays with Emelie, Warren and Julie. They were greeted by a big birthday surprise: brother Bruce Jones from Burlington, Vermont.

Bruce arrived back home in Burlington via Boston Monday, 18 hours after leaving the Spokane Airport and reported the car he left at the parking lot was buried under a huge pile of snow. He was helped by two young men to shovel out his car, though they were tempted to quit shoveling when they saw the Seahawks sticker on his bumper.

Di and Larry Brink drove to Kennewick Sunday to spend the day with their son Kevin and his family.

Kim and Cindy Pitts went to Spokane Saturday to watch their grandson Rafe Carlson play basketball. They brought Rafe and his brother Tate home with them for the rest of the weekend. Their parents, Amanda and Erik Carlson, retrieved the boys Monday.

Pastor Steve and Darla Szasz, Gary and Diane Monson and David and Phyllis Stueckle were luncheon guests of Mark and Andrea Davis, the Stueckle’s granddaughter, Friday in Moscow. The Country Bible Church is helping the Davises fund a future mission in England. They hope to get there by August of this year.

Dick and Helen Appel recently spent five days in Reno attending the American Sheep Industry meetings. Helen is an officer for the women’s auxiliary, and Dick is on the resource committee. The organization is celebrating its 150th year.

Deb and Bob Stavig spent several days with her parents, Dick and Helen Appel. Bob interviewed summer interns from W.S.U. and the U. of I. for his company Hewlett Packard. Deb and Helen visited Caroline Kunkel. They took her to lunch to celebrate her birthday. They also stopped at the home of Lisa Frei to see her family.

David and Phyllis Stueckle were in Puyallup from Monday to Thursday last week. They stayed at the home of David’s brother, Reuben and Judy Stueckle. Phyllis stayed at Reuben and Judy’s home while David went to Olympia to attend the Farm Bureau Legislative Days. Steve and Peter Appel also were in attendance at Olympia.

Last Sunday, after serving as pastor for the morning worship services at Selbu Lutheran Church, Dave and Elaine Stueckle Hogan were served dinner in the church basement by cousin Linda Hennigar. Other guests included Elaine’s sister Goldie Foss and Jim Moore.

Dale Broeckel was released Monday from the Pullman Hospital and is at home recuperating from having both knees replaced.
