The Colfax Downtown Association is seeking farmers, artisans, food vendors and nursery growers to participate in the 2015 Colfax Farmers’ Market.
The market will be every Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. starting May 29 and ending Sept. 4. Booths will be on the corner of Main and Spring streets next to the Colfax Library.
Colfax City Admini-strator Mike Rizzitiello said this year’s farmers’ market is expected to be different from previous markets.
The objective will be to give the Colfax community access to a wide variety of fresh, local, in-season farm and artisan food products direct from the producer. It will also provide an informal, social gathering place in an open-air setting.
Along with traditional farm produce, the downtown association would like to see homemade crafts, nursery plants and food.
Rizzitiello advised prospective vendors to apply as soon as possible. Spaces are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Cost for a booth will be $40 per season for a 10x10-foot space. Walk-in vendors will pay $20 for the afternoon.
Electricity will be available for a $15 annual surcharge and license fees are $15.
Vendors will be asked to provide tables, overhead shade, shelving and other equipment.
Applications are available from Rizzitiello at city hall, or Kimberly DeHart, 397-4355, ext. 0026.
