Palouse approves return to three officer format

The Palouse City Council approved hiring a full-time officer to replace Terry Snead, who resigned his three-fourth time position effective April 30.

Palouse Police Chief Jerry Neumann spoke to the council at its regular meeting March 24.

He asked that the council approve a listing for the position at $3,000 per month plus benefits, which would total $49,023 annually. Neumann noted that he would like to hire someone who has already completed police academy training.
