Springdale softball players will bring an 8-0 league record to McDonald Park Friday when they go up against the Colfax Bulldogs.
Colfax will host with a 4-0 record after defeating the LRS Broncs in two games last Friday.
The Bulldogs blanked the Broncos 19-0 over five innings in the first game and stacked up 17 hits. They had a monster 15 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
They batted around the order twice and booked 11 hits in the inning.
Colfax senior Erica Eng pitched a no-hitter in the first game. Eng retired 12 straight batters to have a perfect game over four innings. She hit the first Bronco batter in the top of the last inning. That turned out to be the lone LRS player to get to first base.
Eng finished by facing just 16 hitters in the short five-inning game, one over the minimum.
Colfax seniors delivered at the plate with Amara Huber hitting 4 for 4 with five RBIs, and Kori Goodwin also hitting 4 for 4 run with four RBIs,
In the second game, LRS scored the first run in the top of the first to claim a lead after a bleak first game. The Bulldogs scored one in the bottom of the second to tie the game and then began to inch ahead.
Colfax scored four more in the third and one in the fourth, but the game went for seven innings. Four more runs in the sixth capped the 10-1 Colfax win.
The Bulldogs totaled 14 hits in the second game.
Goodwin and Andra Hamilton each hit 3 for 4 in the second game with a single, double and triple. Brittany Lewis and Kindra Kneale each had two hits. Cheyanne Strokes hit a triple, and Eng and Sarah Appel had the other hits.
Appel had two hits with a double in the first game, and Lewis also had two hits.
Friday the first game with Mary Walker of Springdale has been scheduled for 2 p.m.
