Timberwolves get close in LRS opener

Tekoa/Rosalia softball team came close to bagging a win Tuesday at Ritzville with a three-run lead after the first three innings, but the Broncos came back to score four in the last three innings for a 4-3 win.

Each team had four hits in the opener.

The T-wolves are playing with three eight graders in the NE campaign. Two of the eighth graders are the pitchers, Tommia Pakootas and Ella Gregory.

In Tuesday’s trip to LRS, the T-wolves had senoir Kim Groom out of the lineup.

Daysia Feltwell, Jensen Merritt, and Sara Foster hid big hits for TR Tuesday.

In the second gamd the Broncos unloaded with a 22-4 win over the Timberwolves with 13 hits.

Saturday at Tekoa, Kettle Falls hammered the Timberwolves 20-8 and 33-7 in two cold NE rounds at Tekoa. Kettle had 13 hits in the first game and stacked a 13-5 lead after three innings. They put it over the 10-run gap with seven more in the top of the fifth.

The T-wolves had just two hits in the first game.

In the second round, Kettle booked 18 hits and looped 14 runs in the first inning. The Timberwolves had six hits.

Both teams opted to shut the game down because of the wind and cold.
