The WSU Public Broadcasting station interviewed Tom Riedner, Dusty, and Greg Nolan, Colfax, last week about their Homestead Ministries organization. They were interviewed for approximately 15 minutes about all aspects of their organization, including the local element. The interview can be seen on-line at http://www.nwptv.org/home/. There has been no information at this time about when it will air on TV.

Duane and Tarri Steiger are proud grandparents of Gunnar Hexie Scholz, born May 5 at eight lb. six oz. to Geraldine and Spencer Scholz at the Whitman Hospital & Medical Center. Paternal grandparents are Jon and Ginna Scholz. Grandma spent four days helping out with the family and generally doting on her first grandchild.

Art and Colene Sager flew to Sun River, Ore., to spend the weekend with their daughter and family, Don and Gaylene Manning and Hannah. They enjoyed helping Hannah celebrate her 17th birthday. The weekend included hiking in the area to view waterfalls and lakes.

Kim and Cindy Pitts were in Boise from Friday until Sunday. They returned two dogs to their daughter’s family, Jen and Ryan Hammons. The dogs have resided with the Pitts since Thanksgiving. While in Boise, they watched granddaughter Willa perform as a Munchkin in the ballet “The Wizard of Oz” and grandson Kellen play baseball.

Lucky and Joan Myrick took their jewelry booth to the Pow Wow in LaGrande, Ore., last weekend.

The women's group of Union Gap held their annual retreat at the Parsonage Bed and Breakfast from Thursday through Saturday. Eight attended.

Monday, Sarah Van Camp will begin painting a mural of an old-time harvest operation on the side of a building on Main Street in LaCrosse. The goal is to have it completed by Farm Festival, the weekend of June 20.

Karen Broeckel attended a bridal shower brunch at the home of Trista Engle near Spokane for Emily Ovens on Sunday. Other family attendees included Emily’s mother and grandmother, Nancy Carlson Tennant and Polly Carlson; Carol Rubin, Jeanette Nolan, Gwen Nolan, Pam Nolan Beasley and Patty Wieber. There were 13 at the shower.

Marc Watson has formed a new company at his residence along Highway 127 called Retical. He provides NRA firearms instruction classes in all disciplines and skill levels. He offers individual training for beginners and advanced shooters.
