Last throw, new record

Senior Josh Brown set a Colfax High School record in his last toss of the discus May 30 in the state 2B competition at Cheney.

Brown with his last throw of his high school career hit 171 feet, eight inches.

The mark bumped a C.H.S. record which was set more than 18 years ago by the late Joe Hall, according to Colfax Coach Jason Cooper.

The Colfax mark was 158-11.

Brown this year had a best mark of 157-11.

He actually bumped his best mark, and the school record, when he went past 164 feet May 30 in his first toss at state.
