Spokane cycle rider hurt

A motorcycle rider was taken to Whitman Hospital after he collided with a deer Friday at the intersection on the Kackman and Lancaster roads north of Endicott. The rider was identified as James Hays, 59, Spokane.

According to the sheriff's accident report, Hays had stopped the Kawasaki he was riding at the intersection and hit the deer as he began to resume speed.

He was transported to the hospital by the Colfax ambulance.
