Rep. Schmick updates Port

Rep.

Joe Schmick of Colfax last Thursday, July 2, updated Port of Whitman commissioners on the two-year state operating budget that nearly forced the state government into a partial shutdown.

The budget was passed and signed hours before the midnight June 30 deadline.

He also updated them about the transportation and capital budgets, which are still on the floor.

"It's not much fun in Olympia in July," Schmick said of the ongoing meetings.
