Dr. Bowman to direct PRH program

Dr.

Jaime Bowman is the newly appointed Director of Medical Education at Pullman Regional Hospital.

The program supports local medical educators and provides physicians in residency and medical school students with opportunities to train and practice on the Palouse.

Dr.

Bowman’s appointment as director is a quarter time position.

She will continue her practice in family medicine at Palouse Medical.

“Appointing Dr.

Bowman as the director is a significant step in Pullman Regional Hospital’s continuing development of medical education and our goal to ensure trained, qualified physicians on the Palouse for the future,” said Scott Adams, CEO of Pullman Regional Hospital.

Adams said developing a rural training track on the Palouse is important to recruit and retain physicians.

“Studies show that nearly 70 percent of medical residents, on a national level, stay in the area where they did their training,” he said.
