The great fire of a week ago to-day, which reduced almost the entire business portion of the town to a mass of dark, smoky ruins, did not destroy, however, the push and energy of the place which were marked with characteristics of the citizens of Pullman.
To-day is marked by activity in the erection of temporary structures among the ruins, while work of clearing away debris of the yet smoking ruins, preparatory to rebuilding has commenced in a spirit which bodes well for the rapid upbuilding of the town.
