Pavement goes down in Colfax

After grinding a layer of worn pavement last week, Poe Asphalt crews paved the two east side lanes of Main Street Monday night and paved the two west side lanes on Tuesday night.

Trucks, rollers and two paving machines were at work here in front of Rosauer's Monday.

Traffic was again limited to one-way with an escort and flaggers.

At the north end, traffic was detoured over the Highway 26 bridge so asphalt could be put down on the Highway 195 bridge.

Rock for the Poe project, which extends north to the Dry Creek Road intersection, was supplied from the Shawnee Rock pit which is located at the top of the Buck Canyon grade on the east side.

Shawnee Rock crushed the rock for the road, and Poe processed the rock with a batch plant which was installed at the site.
