Seventeen senior girls will seek state DYW title

Three local entrants will be among 17 high school seniors who will participate Saturday in the Washington Distinguished Young Women competition at WSU's Beasley Coliseum. They are Sarah Appel of Colfax, Zoe Moser of Colton-Uniontown and Linda Zhang of Pullman.

This year's competition will be the 58th annual competition for the program which was formerly known at the Washington Junior Miss competition.

Entrants were scheduled to arrive in Pullman Tuesday to begin practice schedules. They will stay with Pullman host families for the program which will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1.
