Influences range from the sounds of original bluegrass pioneers like Earl Scruggs, Jimmy Martin and Lester Flatt to rock bands of the 1980s, and modern contemporary sounds such as Alison Krauss and Union Station.

Tickets are sold only at the door with admission $15. Doors open at 6:15 with the performance beginning at 7 p.m.

CLUBS & YOUTH GROUPS

Thrifty Grandmothers

Seventeen members met recently in the basement of the library for their monthly meeting. A letter was received from the St. Baldrich Foundation, which raises funds for kids' cancer research, thanking the club for their $1,000 donation. The club gives high priority to this cause because Dr. Greg Aune, a Colfax High grad, is very much involved as a pediatric oncologist and a cancer survivor.

Two memorials were given to local families. A gift of cash was given for a local needy woman.

Other donations went to Colfax School District to purchase student school supplies, including the Special Education department; to the Middle School and High School, and the JES Elementary, $750 each.
