Charges filed against trio

Charges were filed Aug. 18 against the three suspects who were arrested Aug. 13 following a report of a hit and run accident on Upper Union Flat Road. The three suspects were arrested at Albion after an investigation of the accident.

Jennifer Charawell, 28, was charged with second degree assault and obstruction of justice. Charawell was alleged to be the driver of a truck which struck Cody Rohrich of Colfax in the early morning hours. The charge alleges Charawell assaulted Rohrich with a late model Dodge four passenger pickup truck.

Joshua Worl, 35, Albion, and Kirk Lee, 25, Pullman were each charged with possession of methamphetamine and assault.

The investigation report said deputies found evidence of methamphetamine use in the residence in Albion where deputies arrested the trio. Lee was located in a crawl space under the house, and Charawell allegedly helped him get into the crawl space.

Worl and Lee have each posted a $5,000 bond which was set at their first appearance in court.

Lee Friday pleaded not guilty and his trial date was set for Nov. 16. Worl’s arraignment was postponed a week.

Charawell was returned to jail after pre-sentencing release on convictions of drug delivery and drug possession was revoked. The sentencing for the drug convictions was reset for Aug. 28 and arraignment on the new charges was also set for that date.
