Art and Colene Sager flew to Newberg, Ore., last Friday and spent the night with Colene’s brother and his wife, Bob and Judy Records. The next day, they flew on to Independence, Ore., to attend an Oregon Flying Farmers gathering. Late in the afternoon, they flew to Sun River, Ore., to spend time with their daughter, Gaylene and Don Manning and grandchild Hannah. Sunday, they attended LaPine Community Church where their son-in-law is the pastor. Granddaughter Hannah traveled home with them to spend the school term with her other grandparents, Don and Judy Manning, so she can finish her senior year of high school at Freeman High.
Fran and Bryan Jones attended the marriage ceremony Aug. 15 of Warren Jones and Julie Walker. The following weekend, Warren Jones and Julie Walker-Jones were weekend guests at the homes of his mother Fran and brother Bryan.
Recently, Dick and Helen Appel spent the weekend with their daughter Barb and her husband Bruce Wollstein. While there, they enjoyed seeing their three granddaughters, Beth Lohrmeyer and David and Kristin, Joanne and Pat Corrigan and Kate Moon. Dick and Helen attended a Mariners ball game with Barb and Bruce to celebrate Dick’s birthday.
Many friends, neighbors and relatives attended the memorial services for Dusty native Gary Ackerman last Friday at the Baptist Church in Colfax. He is survived by his wife Rita, four children: Candy (Steve) Bernd, Greg Ackerman, Reid Shahan and Justin (Jennifer) Shahan; five grandchildren, Kyle, Alyssa, Sydney, Courtney and Piper; and two sisters, Bonnie Wigen and Patty Lewis.
David and Phyllis Stueckle attended funeral services Saturday at Onecho Bible Church for Bob Marshall.
