Free boater class Sept. 16

A free boater education class will be conducted by the sheriff’s office next Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 16-17, from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Public Service Building in Colfax. The class provides certification for a boater education card which is mandatory for any Washington resident born after Dec. 31, 1954. Attendance both nights is required. Those who complete the class can obtain the boater card by sending $10 and their class certificate to Washington State Parks, according to Deputy John Guidice.
