Colfax volleyball players posted wins against both foes in the Bulldog jamboree Saturday.
The Bulldogs split with St. John/Endicott in their first two games, and then dominated with a 15-9 win in the short decider game.
Colfax won the first game 25-14, but the Eagles came back to post an early lead in the second game and went on to a 25-21 win. The two teams played a decider, and the Bulldogs took it 15-9.
Colfax took the first two games against Pullman with matching 25-23 scores, but the `hounds took the last game 25-21 under under the jamboree format.
Pullman dominated SJE in three games, 25-14 25-15 and 25-21.
Colfax stats in the SJE match included Katelyn Scholz -12 for 12 serving with three aces, Olivia Mellor-eight digs, Scout Cai-seven digs, and Carmen Gfeller- six kills.
Against Pullman, Ashtyn Aune hit 15-16 with four aces off the serve line.
Cai had five kills and two blocks; Gfeller hit 11 kills, and Mellor hit 9 kills. Aune had 10 assists against the hounds, and Scholz had 13 assists.
Tonight, Thursday, the Bulldogs will host Gonzaga, the first of two GSL foes on the pre-league schedule for Colfax.
An early booking Saturday for the Waitsburg tournament was scratched because of the number of Colfax players entered in the Palouse Empire Fair.
Mt. Spokane volleyball team will visit here next Thursday, Sept. 17, for the other GSL test.
