Climate change talk slated

at library

“Climate Change: a Brief Overview” is the topic of a free presentation by Dr. Peter Haug at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24 at the Colfax Library. This talk considers the underlying science of climate change and its worldwide ramifications. Dr. Haug will briefly discuss current scientific research, how the earth is changing and implications for future societies.

Dr. Haug will expand this presentation in October with two evening classes, provided at the library by Community Colleges of Spokane.

Helm art display

at Bank Left

Equinox dinner Sept. 26 at the Bank Left Gallery in Palouse will feature the art work of Tamara Helm, faculty emeritus at Washington State University.

Dinner with live music will be from 6 to 8 p.m. The art exhibit will be open free to the public from Sept. 26 to Oct. 24.

Dueling Pianos

returns for YMCA

benefit Sept. 26

The seventh annual Keys to Success for YMCA of the Palouse will feature dueling pianos to benefit youth programs Saturday, Sept. 26, at 5:30 p.m. at the SEL Events Center in Pullman. Based out of Salt Lake City, Utah, Dueling Pianos Anywhere is performing for the ninth-straight year and is a leading nationally-touring show.

All proceeds will go to support YMCA's youth programs on the Palouse.

Hospital Auxiliary

Whitman Hospital Auxiliary met Tuesday, Sept. 1, and discussed plans for the upcoming year.

Next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 5, in the hospital annex at 1:30 p.m. Dues are due, and flu shots for members will be available.

Those interested in joining are encouraged to attend the October meeting.
