New rails, projects seen as benefit for Palouse Grain

A section of rail next to the Palouse Grain Growers facility at the east end of town may be replaced next summer.

Replacement of a rail spur and a new hopper bin and loadout conveyor may both come to fruition next summer at the Palouse Grain Growers location east of Palouse.

The land is now owned by Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT), which is in negotiation to sell 3.7 acres in three parcels to Palouse Grain Growers.

Long in discussion, the deal is expected to go through this month.
