Athenaeum Club recognizes two 50-year members

Athenaeum Club of Colfax honored Katie Schmick and Leona Herman for 50 years of membership and service to the club and community on Friday, Oct. 2, at the annual Homecoming Tea at the Courtyard. Katie and Leona were entered into the secretary’s book as Mrs. Lloyd Schmick and Mrs. Harvey Herman, and each served on a number of committees and held offices. Both served as president. They recalled that club meeting time was advanced from 2 p.m. to 1 p.m. so members could more easily attend their children’s school sports.
