Vanos wins NE race

Nathan Vanos of St. George's prevailed Tuesday in an all NE run at Wilbur with a 15:45.4 clocking.

Vanos finished almost 18 seconds ahead of league foe Jack Ammon of Northwest Christian who clocked 16:03.23 for second place.

The Crusaders, who had three finishers in the top five, took the team honor with 52 points, three under the St. George's totaled.

Finishers for Colfax were Tim Cornelius, 24th at 18:31; Chase Baerlocher, 29th at 18:42; Carson Cloaninger, 42nd at 20:11; and Josh Goebel, 59th at 21:22.

Madison Ward of St. Georges led the girls race at 18:45, but Reardan, which had three runners in the top 10 won the team title with 40 points.

Rebekah Huber of Colfax clocked 25:36. and Alicia Knee clocked 25:37 for 27th and 28th in an entry of 40 runners in the girls race.
