Her great grandmother owned a hat shop on the second floor of St. Elmo's Hotel. Her mother was a fixture at the Palouse Post Office.

She played on the first Garfield-Palouse Vikings team to ever make it to state.

Now she'd like to be the first new mayor in Palouse in 14 years.

Connie (Moore) Newman, former city council representative, is running against incumbent Michael Echanove. She seeks the position for three main reasons: stewardship of tax dollars, affordable housing and mayor's office accountability to the citizens.
