Vintage tractors of all shapes and sizes converge for the 24th annual plowing bee at the David Morgan ranch along the Palouse River west of Manning Saturday. Morgan estimated 20 tractors took part in the all-day bee with 118 joining in the lunch. Above, the International TD 14A, operated by Jerry Hennigar, was rated as the largest tractor in the event.
The 1950 model tractor during its working days was used on the Dan Hood ranch located near the top of the Wawawai grade. Tractor traffic, below, became a little congested as the operators approached the point at the south end of the 25-acre field located on the flat along the river.
