Colton faces Pomeroy for playoffs

Colton can ensure entry into the Southeast 1B football playoffs at home Friday against Pomeroy (4-4, 3-2 league). A win will put the Wildcats (5-3, 4-2 league) into the postseason.

Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

Last week, quarterback John Lesser and the 8-0 (4-0 league) Liberty Christian Patriots beat Colton 84-30 at Richland.

He ran for four touchdowns and threw for five more.

The Wildcats stayed close into the second quarter, when senior Carter Dahmen threw for a 40-yard touchdown to Grant Kinzer to make it 30-22.

On Liberty Christian's next drive, on fourth-and-25, Lesser delivered a 45-yard touchdown throw to Cameron Godwin to take control of the game.

Dahmen passed for 314 yards on the night while Kinzer caught five passes for 187 yards and Brady Chadwick had 11 receptions for 68 yards.
