Vantrease clocks first marathon

Linnea Vantrease of Colfax recently completed the Spokane Marathon, and posted a time of three hours, 51 minutes.

“I was really happy about that,” she said, adding that she averaged about 10 minute miles.

This race was Vantrease's first marathon, and she said it met her expectations. She said Colfax Mayor Todd Vanek helped her to train by offering route suggestions, and Morgan Willson, who competes on WSU's cross country team, ran with her over the summer.

The Spokane Marathon started downtown by the Davenport and went along the river, ending at Riverfront Park.
