County to call for rock supply bids

Whitman County Commissioners approved a public listing for bids for two crushed-rock supply contracts Monday, to go to sites in Colfax and LaCrosse.

The $500,000 to $600,000 worth of road-work material represents an estimated 100,000 tons of rock.

The Whitman County Public Works Department's call for bids on a rock supply contract generally happens twice per year, supplying at least 18 active stockpile sites around the county.
