Colfax to host SE net finals

Colfax Saturday will host final rounds of the SE volleyball playoffs for two playoff slots in the state B finals next week at the Yakima SunDome. Pomeroy, the defending state champs, lead the pack for the two slots after posting a 14-0 in the league run. Oakesdale earned the number-two finish in the league run.

The two leaders hosted the first rounds of playoff action Wednesday night. Garfield/Palouse, which finished fourth, and Touchet, number five, played the first round at Pomeroy, and the winner of that match went up against the league champions in the second round.

At Oakesdale, Colton, number-three in the league race, and St. John/Endicott, sixth-place finisher, faced off in the first game, and the winner faced the Nighthawks in the second round.

All six entrants will advance to Colfax Saturday.

Winners in the second round games Wednesday will collide in the battle for the top state entry slot at 1:30. The loser of that game will face the eventual survivor out of four-team consolation bracket which will start the day's action at 10 a.m.
