Commissioners approve Martin Hall budget

The Whitman County commissioners approved the 2016 Martin Hall operating budget at their meeting Monday.

Operation of the Martin Hall juvenile facility at Medical Lake is with Adams, Asotin, Douglas, Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens and Whitman counties.

According the budget compiled, Whitman County pays for 2.5 beds per day adding up to 912.5 beds in a calendar year. The budget this year kept the cost per day to house a juvenile inmate the same at $155 per bed. That makes the total county expense $141,437.50.
