Tom's Turkey Drive Friday & Saturday

Tom's Turkey Drive is scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Rosauers to benefit local families. For every bagged Thanksgiving dinner purchased, the Colfax Food Pantry will receive two.

“Ultimately, for 20 bucks we feed two whole families,” said Paige Collins, executive director at Council on Aging & Human Services.

The bagged dinners include a turkey, stuffing, potatoes and cranberries for $20. Collins said, at minimum, the bagged Thanksgiving dinner can feed five people.

Collins said the goal this year is to have enough Thanksgiving dinner bags to distribute to 850. She said last year there was excess.

“Colfax Pantry had enough to cover everybody and had 100 leftover,” said Collins.

From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, volunteers will be at Rosauers to remind customers to purchase the Thanksgiving dinners. Collins said she is still in need of volunteers for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone interested can call her at 397-4305.

Collins said the dinners will be distributed in Colfax on Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m. For other distribution times in other communities, contact local pantries.
