Heather Robinson Monaghan

A celebration of life for Heather Robinson Monaghan, 39, was Saturday morning Nov. 21, 2015, at the Seltice Room of the Garden Plaza, 545 Garden Plaza Court, Post Falls, Idaho. She died from injuries sustained in a vehicle accident in Spokane Valley Nov. 13.

Born June 3, 1976, in Colfax, to Steven and Erin Wing Robinson, she attended schools in Oakesdale and graduated with the high school class of 1994. She later attended North Idaho College in Coeur d’Alene.

She and Mike Monaghan were married in Coeur d’Alene Nov. 13, 1998. They had been married for 17 years.

Survivors include husband Mike, Coeur d’Alene; two daughters, Haylee Monaghan and Madison Monaghan; mother, Erin (Randall) Nelson of Parshall, N.D .; father, Steve Robinson of Farmington; step-father Steve Fletcher of Coeur d’Alene; a brother, Douglas Robinson of Colfax; grandparents, George and Dolores Robinson of Farmington, Joan McCurdy of Spokane and Gerald Fletcher of Spokane.

G.A. Perry

A memorial service for G. A. Perry, 89, will be Saturday, Nov. 28, at 1 p.m. at the Federated Church in Palouse with the Rev. Corey Laughary officiating. Potlatch Post VFW and the United States Army Honor Guard will participate at the service. Mr. Perry died late Thursday evening Nov. 19, 2015, at his home in Palouse.

Born Dec. 4, 1925, at Oakesdale, to William H. and Arvilla McGinnis Perry, he attended schools in Oakesdale and Palouse, and graduated from Palouse High School. He entered the United States Army and served in the European Theater under General George Patton with Company A 42nd Armored Infantry Battalion.

He married Dixie McMillion Jan. 16, 1948, in Coeur d'Alene, and the couple made their home in Palouse. Perry worked for the Wallace Grain & Pea Co., managed Dick Wallace Motors in Palouse and worked as the City of Palouse Water Superintendent for a few years before moving to Hayward, Calif., where he worked as a carpenter in building construction from 1960 until 1972. They moved back to Palouse and purchased the Wooden Nickel Tavern and operated the business until 1975. In 1975, he began working at Washington State University as a maintenance mechanic until he retired in 1984.

Mr. Perry was a member of the Palouse Lions Club, Potlatch VFW and the American Legion. He also served as a volunteer fireman for Palouse. Mr. Perry had the honor to fly to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight to visit the WWII memorial a few years ago.

Survivors include his wife Dixie Perry, Palouse; one son, Kenneth Perry (Monica), Salome, Ariz .; one daughter, Connie Atkinson, Palouse; one brother, Max E. Perry (Cheryl), Bellingham; one sister, Phyllis Siler, Spokane; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
