Tekoa churches organize Christmas Fund

The longtime Tekoa Christmas Fund is underway for another year.

The program distributes food vouchers during the week of Christmas to Tekoa Market, paid for by donations to a local bank, which are then totaled and divided by the number of applicants.

Each adult and child receives the same amount.

Annual vouchers given average about $30.

The drive is organized by members of Tekoa Community Church, Tekoa Mountain Bible Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Last year, 138 children and adults were assisted.
