CLAUDINE ATKISON
A memorial service for Claudine Atkison, 92, will be Saturday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church, Potlatch, with Pastor Kathy Kramer officiating. Mrs. Atkison died Thursday morning, Nov. 26, 2015, at the Guardian Angel Liberty House in Lewiston.
Born June 7, 1923, in Latah County to Claude and Myrtle Ethridge Davis, she attended the Potlatch schools and graduated from Potlatch High School.
She married Glen Atkison Nov. 19, 1941, and operated Atkison Sales & Service. The couple also formed and operated Atkison Logging until they retired. Mr. Atkison died in 1987. Claudine enjoyed many winters in Yuma, Ariz.
Survivors include one son Timothy (Nanette) Atkison, Chandler, Ariz .; two daughters, Pamela (Darrel) French, Potlatch; and Kathy (Paul) Preppernau, Glendale, Ariz .; seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

CLAYTON LINSE
A memorial service for Clayton E. Linse, 96, St. John resident for the past 21 years, will be Friday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. at St. John Methodist Church. Mr. Linse died Nov. 23, 2015, in Spokane.
Born Sept. 8, 1919, on a farm near Milbank, S.D., his family moved to Seattle in 1936. He graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle and attended the University of Washington.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1939 and served in the south Pacific, aboard the USS Maryland. He was aboard ship Dec. 7, 1941, the day of the infamous attack on Pearl Harbor. Linse was honorably discharged in Oct., 1945.
After WWII, Linse worked in a gold mining operation in Alaska before marrying Jeanne Brown. He owned the town tavern in Winlock for six years.
They moved to Seattle, and he began his career with Boeing. He also worked with Winchell's and in real estate. During this period, he worked extremely hard building their home in Kenmore which was completed 1969. He retired from Boeing in 1982.
He moved to the St. John/Endicott area in 1984 and enjoyed community activities, often playing bridge and golf. He attended St. John Methodist Church.
He traveled to southern California each year to spend time with his extended family up and down the West Coast.
Mr. Linse was pre-deceased by his wife after 32 years of marriage.
Survivors include a brother A. Lavonne (Barbara), Napa, Calif .; sons Edward, Thousand Palms, Calif .; John (Cindy), Souderton, Pa .; James (Rosa), Torrance, Calif .; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
ARIEL O'REILLY
Ariel M. O'Reilly, 94, died Nov. 20, 2015, at her home at Bishop Place in Pullman. A private family service will be at a later date next year at the Greenwood Cemetery in Palouse with the Rev. Corey Laughary officiating.
Born Aug. 27, 1921, in Palouse to Cloyd and Arminta Howard Boone, she attended Palouse schools and graduated from the Palouse High School with the class of 1938. She married LeRoy Foster Oct. 3, 1938 in Colfax, and they made their home at Princeton, Idaho. Mr. Foster died in December of 1970 and she married Richard O’Reilly in 1981. They were later divorced.
Ariel later moved to Moscow and lived at the Good Samaritan retirement apartments. She moved to Bishop Place Independent Apartments in 2013.
Ariel had a vast antique collection, enjoyed her flower garden and playing cards. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Potlatch, Rebekah Lodge, Potlatch Post #10300 Ladies Aide and Harvard Ladies Club.
Survivors include one son Robert Foster (Mairi), Sun City West, Ariz .; one sister Betty Burden, Palouse; two grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Ariel was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Foster, one granddaughter, Pixie Foster, and two grandsons, Timothy and Tony Foster.
Memorials are suggested to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, Box 2472, Spokane, 99210-2472.
