Coaches expect Chewelah to join NE league

Football coaches and athletic directors in the NE league expect the Chewelah Cougars will join the lineup of 2B ranks next year. Chewelah, a former football foe of Colfax in the A division, anticipates the enrollment count from the current WIAA tally will drop them into the 2B classification.

The WIAA has surveyed the top three grade counts for member schools, and those counts will be used to divide teams around the state into six different classifications for competition over the next four years.
